Always on top of its appellation, Haut-Carles gets its 7th special selection. This cuvee, produced from the best parcels in the property, is now part of the finest wines of Bordeaux. The 2006 vintage has a beautiful black robe. Black fruits, coconut, liquorice, vanilla, toasted wood: the aromatics are complexe and intense. It’s powerful and well extracted tannins support a concentrated mouth, fat and soft. It is certainly a wine to cellar (five to ten years). The second wine from Ch. de Carles (8 to 11 Euros), ads another two stars to the impressive collection of this cru. It barely misses the special selection for its harmonious bouquet of spices, toast and ripe fruit, as well as for its velvety tannins.
