The last glass by Olivier Ameisen

Following an article (in French) I read on Jacques Berthomeau’s blog, I ordered (and received) a book at the Saint Emilion bookstore, which I recommend to everyone interested in the serious subject of alcoholism.
Doctor Olivier Ameisen wrote this book based on his experience with alcoholism and the difficulties to get out of it.
Tough book, without any compromise but especially without demonizing this disease, and how he was able to get cured.

I read an article on this in a UK Sunday paper. Sounds very interesting - I have a sister of 50 who is an alcoholic and it is tearing the family apart. Is this book published in English yet, do you know?

I found on the internet that this book has been transleted in English and called: "The End of My Addiction: How a Renowned Cardiologist Cured Himself of Alcoholism" and will be released in the UK next Spring.

Released in the US today. Available from Amazon et al.

I had the opportunity to read an advance copy. A very compelling read, indeed.

I saw him on TV; there's a pretty informative FAQ on his site: http://olivierameisen.com/

When I first heard about it I admit I was skeptical but now I'm eager to read the book.
